Here we go, kids.
Tomorrow I start district training for my new job.  I have to be in north Denver for classes that start at 8am, the same time I have been getting up as of late. I am actually not as anxious or upset by this as I normally would be.  Maybe I am starting to feel ready to get back to a routine?  I know I am super excited about my new school and the amazing people I will be working with inspired by...

Secret Bookcase Doors
hisnamewasbeanni: fuckyeahawesomehouses: Can’t not reblog. I’ve already started dropping subtle hints to the husband about the need for him to build me a secret bookshelf door to a library.  I’m also still waiting for my window box seat ;)

Tumblr Teacher: Girl with a Lesson Plan: Why boys... →
wyveraryborealis: shannonhale: When I do book signings, most of my line is made up of young girls with their mothers, teen girls alone, and mother friend groups. But there’s usually at least one boy with a stack of my books. This boy is anywhere from 8-19, he’s carrying a worn stack…

The Dribble of Nerds: Colorado Public Schools...... →
incognerdo: Let’s all get on ONE page. Even with Common Core schools are still kind of all over the place. Since our population is highly migratory, let’s make things the same all over the state! That way, you know, when they migrate back and forth sixteen times in a school year, they’re not getting messed up… WORD! The past couple weeks I have been getting so annoyed with CO and the way...

theimprobablefiction: Perhaps a lesson you had to learn on your own when you had your own classroom? There really isn’t anything I learned (or am learning) on my own that I wish someone in some class had told me about.  Probably a lot of the things I’ve learned on my own someone did mention along the line and it wasn’t relevant at the time.  There is no possible way to learn...

Positively Persistent Teach: thank goodness →
allisonunsupervised: Regardless of all the headlined whatever, the world is full of good-hearted, generous people. Here’s what one of them did today: A day or two ago, when my communication with my headed-to-college graduate turned to radio silence, I emailed the retired teacher who’d… This is just beautiful.

I Passed!
This morning I woke up to a lovely email from my advisor.  She gave me some very nice, thoughtful comments about my COMPS (thesis) and told me to be on my way in the world of education as an MA grad.  I have 2 projects due this coming week for my last class and then I am D-O-N-E! So far I have a 104% so it is looking like I’ll be keeping my 4.0 for the MA. SO excited!!

muchadoaboutteaching: There is no way I will be able to remember everything I am learning as an undergrad when the time comes for me to actually use it in the classroom. How did you remember all of the ideas, strategies, etc when you started teaching? Was there a way that you organized… I found that I didn’t always remember which class I received certain info that I wanted later....

Rory Gilmore Reading Challenge →
ohheythereworld: My boyfriend sent this link to me. It has a lot (250) great books on it. I have some serious opinions on this list, and the fact that Rory read these tomes, dated, at junk food and was extremely well watched in classic films. Not to mention she had a few coming out balls.  That being said: this is an excellent book list with a wide range of topics, titles, authors, and...
